Terms of Service

What ByteTunnel is
ByteTunnel provides a tunneling service that lets you host a Minecraft server from your own hardware without exposing your IP address. We operate edge servers that accept player connections and route them through an encrypted tunnel to your machine. You run our agent software (or your own compatible client) to establish that tunnel.
Your account
You need an account to use ByteTunnel. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials and API keys secure. If you think your account has been compromised, email support@bytetunnel.gg and we will lock it.
One person, one account. Do not create multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits.
What you can use it for
ByteTunnel is for hosting Minecraft servers. The tunnel is designed for Minecraft protocol traffic. You may use it with any Minecraft server software (Paper, Spigot, Fabric, Forge, Velocity, BungeeCord, etc.) and any version.
What you cannot do
- Use the tunnel for non-Minecraft traffic or as a general-purpose proxy
- Attempt to access, disrupt, or overload other customers' tunnels or servers
- Use ByteTunnel to host servers that distribute malware, run scams, or facilitate illegal activity
- Resell ByteTunnel access to others without permission
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our infrastructure without written permission
- Circumvent rate limits, bandwidth caps, or player limits through technical means
Fair use
Free and paid plans have bandwidth and player limits. These are soft limits during beta but will be enforced as we scale. If your usage consistently exceeds your plan, we will ask you to upgrade. We will not cut your tunnel without warning except in cases of abuse.
Availability
We run ByteTunnel on reliable infrastructure with DDoS protection, but we do not guarantee 100% uptime. Edge nodes may go down for maintenance, updates, or unexpected issues. We will try to give notice before planned downtime. We are not liable for lost players, interrupted gameplay, or downtime of any kind.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time from the dashboard. We can suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, abuse the infrastructure, or use it for something clearly outside the scope of Minecraft server hosting. If we terminate your account, we will tell you why unless doing so would compromise security.
Payments and refunds
Paid plans are billed monthly. You can cancel anytime and keep access until the end of the billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial months. If we shut down or remove a feature you are paying for, we will refund the remaining time on your plan.
Liability
ByteTunnel is provided as-is. We are not responsible for data loss, downtime, security breaches on your Minecraft server, or anything that happens on your server through the tunnel. Our liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 3 months before the issue.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If the changes are significant, we will email you. Continuing to use ByteTunnel after a change means you accept the updated terms.
